Passive Aggressive Notes: From My Son?

by Jessica Gottlieb on October 31, 2008

Monday I made my famous ribs (okay the only difference with my ribs and these is that I use freshly grated ginger and much less sugar and honey) and invited one of my favorite tennis parters to join us for supper. Jackie is an amazing tennis player, but in addition to that she’s a lovely guest. As a retired school teacher she just seems to know what to bring kids.

Each of my kids got a packet of eco-friendly pencils, a few colored pens, a highlighter and Post It Notes.

Kids Love Post It Notes.

And this is what I found on Alexander’s mirror tonight:

Pretty cool, right?

Especially is a difficult word to spell when you’re in 2nd grade.

But then it deteriorates.

Apparently I’m not the only writer in the house

Nice to see. Told you you’d be a great mommy.

Remember us? We were your neighbors in Pueblo. Killer used to wrestle our ferrets in the living room.

Now in the land of Oz. Ed is a government inspector and Cheryl is disabled from bad back surgery. Josh is grown and in college plus working full time.

Hope your life is great. Just saying Hi and happy for you.

Love the notes…and the pencils. Have you seen Smencils? They are made with recycled newspaper, and are scented. Some of them smell so good.

Just glimpses of what I am sure I will get to look forward to when Z and the new baby are older. The notes are awesome though, your daughter is definitely very bright.

Doh, I put daughter thinking about my daughters, I meant your son. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if your daughter would be precocious as your son. :P

OK, the first set of notes impressed me, and the second made me laugh. “Sigh a lot” would definitely bug me, I have to say.
